Thanks for sharing, Lacey! I personally love the thought: If we can get 1% better each day, over the course of a year, we’ll be in a way better place than we were when we started. As someone who writes about making healthy eating easier, leaning into this mentality is super beneficial for anyone who is trying to eat healthier!

100%! Thinking about it as tiny positive changes over the course of year is way less intimidating but as long as there’s consistency, it makes a huge impact!

I’m a huge fan of habit stacking — I found it was a successful approach to new years last year and will be again! Life and goals feel far less daunting in piecemeal.

Yes, 100%! What are some of your favorite combos? Getting myself out the door for a walk in the am is always easier when I get a coffee at my favorite place at the end… Looking for new habits to stack!

In my post last January 3rd, I had the intent to stack brushing teeth with drinking the liter of water at the start of the day that my nutritionist recommends, as well as meditating the few minutes it takes to brew coffee and always having a green juice right after my CrossFit wod. Several lifestyle changes — stopped drinking coffee for one — changed my plans. I did, however put the liter of water by the bed and started hydrating immediately upon waking, and stacked taking my HRT with teeth brushing as I often forgot about my meds. The green juice habit ebbs and flows but it evolved to a protein shake. What I love most is that things are not set in stone but allow for us to reconfigure what we need and how to stack it so it becomes more habitual.
