My post to be published on Sunday is about why I, a 77 year old pescatarian, have been taking creatine for four months. Yours is a much deeper dive than mine, but I think we both come to the same conclusion.

I'm a 48 year old male and have struggled with low testosterone for years. I tried T supplementation a few years ago and liked the results, but the side effects were too much and with my family history, I didn't want the extra cardiac risks. So one of my ex-trainers recommended Creatine to me both for general energy and for better gym results. I bough the Thorne brand because I've liked their supplements in the past and they are one of the only supplement brands I trust. It's only been a few months, but so far I like the results. I feel like I'm training better, lifting heavier, and have more energy. It's hard to attribute any specific cause and effect, as the same time I started creatine I vowed to up my game in terms of lifting and really challenging myself. But after years of mediocre weight training, I've really been seeing results lately. So I will definitely keep taking it, particularly since I don't really see any downside, except the money spent on it. Thorne isn't the cheapest, but like I said, I trust their quality, so it's worth it. Maybe it's completely placebo, but I do think it is helping my gym performance.

Wow this is awesome!! I’m leaning towards Thorne too. I don’t work out as much as I should, but I’m thinking this might help incentivize me to. Thank you for sharing this!! So glad it seems to be working for you and nice job crushing it at the gym! 🏋️

You’re welcome! Thanks for reading. And it’s always up to you to choose what to take and what’s right for your own body!! I always say you know your body the best, and if it isn’t feeling like a fit for you, it probably isn’t! I’ll report back on how it goes. ❤️

Thanks for this deep dive!! I have also been considering taking this, but I was realizing that a lot of supplements recommended lately, including creatine, zinc, iron, and choline, are all found in meat and fish sources, as you mentioned, so it feels like I should just be eating more protein. So many vitamins also give me fatigue! I am also worried about the added sugar and extra stuff in gummies, etc. This was super informative though, so I feel like I need to watch my intake of protein sources and nuts even more.

Def with you on the extra stuff in gummies! A lot that I looked into don’t have sugar, so that does exist! I’m thinking a clean version of a powder or stick pack could be good. I’ll try it out for you and report back! But yes, when you can get these nutrients from food, that’s always a great way. I just think it can be hard to make sure you’re getting enough! Interesting about getting fatigue from supplements!!! I wonder what that could be!

The powder def seems like a better option! Curious how you feel! For sure, and always trying not to eat too much meat and fish for the planet, but I added a lot more back in 6 months ago and feel so much better. I feel like fatigue from vitamins was just taking too many! Need a test to see what I'm really lacking..
