Lacey — I have so been there these past few days as the 10-day family vacation out west careening in an RV through Yellowstone, Jackson etc has been cancelled each day (since Saturday) because of the global IT crisis affecting airlines. Having planned for 6 months, and reworking things each day only to receive a new cancellation, it's been hard not to spiral. Coincidentally, I used to have Sarah Wragge as my nutritionist(!) and I do find strength in resetting each am with the fundamentals; it truly helps. xx
Wow, Christine. I know this feeling! I hope this is all behind you soon and that you find peace in the fundamentals! They really help me when I'm in spiral mode! Too funny that you've worked with Sarah. Lucky you! I am LOVING her alkalize powder as a key part of my AM routine right now!
Love this. I also heard something recently about input and output, where the work we do is what we output, but we also need input from the outer world to inspire us (like going to a museum, reading, being in nature, speaking with a friend, etc.). For those days I feel I can’t give much output, I try to reframe and find ways to give me good input so I can come back to feeling refreshed for better output.
@Elizabeth Myers — That is a fantastic reframe. Brene Brown often talks about needing a new mind shift (and handing things over to our partners; when we have 20%, he needs to handle 80% for example) because we just don't have infinite energy to handle it all. ALL the time.
